Record scope

Use this record for a pupil on the school roll whose absence is unexpected and unexplained. Record prompt enquiries, information obtained, safeguarding considerations, contact attempts, decisions, escalation and referrals. If there is reason to believe the pupil is in immediate danger or at risk of harm, follow the school’s safeguarding procedures and record any referral to children’s social care and, where appropriate, the police.
