This procedure applies where an Education Supervision Order is in force for a pupil connected with the school. The school should coordinate review arrangements with the supervisor, the local authority and all other relevant parties.
Review frequency and participation
Review meetings involving all parties, including the school, should be held every three months throughout the period the Education Supervision Order is in force.
On receiving or confirming the review arrangements, record the meeting date, the supervisor's details, the local authority contact and the other relevant parties in [eso review record location].
Preparation for the review meeting
Before the meeting, prepare the school information relevant to the pupil's current circumstances, the actions and directions currently being considered, and any proposed additions or amendments.
Confirm the school's representative and provide the meeting information to that representative at [school notice point].
Participation in the review meeting
The school representative should participate in the meeting with the supervisor and all other relevant parties, present the prepared school information, and contribute to discussion of the current actions and directions.
The supervisor determines any directions to be given while the Education Supervision Order is in force. The school should record the directions discussed and any actions or directions added or amended during the meeting.
Attendance and meeting record
Record the meeting date, the parties present, the school's contribution, the current actions and directions discussed, and any additions or amendments in [eso review record location].
Follow-up
After the meeting, follow up with the supervisor, the local authority and other relevant parties on the actions and directions recorded, using the agreed communication route at [eso follow up route].
Update the school's record when follow-up has been completed or when further information, amendment or coordination is required.
Review meetings involving all parties (including the school) should be held every 3 months throughout the period the ESO is in force. At these meetings any actions and directions should be discussed and added or amended.
