Fields in brackets are completed when you adapt this template.
This guidance is for maintained and academy primary and secondary schools in England. The supplied allergy safety policy and Individual Healthcare Plan (IHP) templates are optional example material. They do not replace the school's own policy or pupil-specific planning.
Using the templates
The templates may be used as example material when developing the school's allergy safety policy and pupils' IHPs.
The example text may also support the school's arrangements for record keeping and training around the use of adrenaline auto-injectors (AAIs) in school.
Adapt the examples to reflect the school's own documents and arrangements. Do not treat the templates as mandatory forms.
Recording how the examples were used
Where the school uses or adapts the templates, record how they informed the school's own policy, IHPs, record keeping or training arrangements in [allergy template use record].
The school may also record a decision not to use the examples, together with how the school's own documents and arrangements were developed.
Applying the guidance
Use the examples only where they are suitable for the school's circumstances and the individual pupil's planning. Maintain the distinction between the school's own documents and the supplied example templates.
