School Vehicle First-Aid Box Inspection Checklist

Use this checklist for a minibus or larger passenger vehicle only where the vehicle is covered by the cited vehicle regulations. If the vehicle is not applicable, stop this checklist for that vehicle.

Record the vehicle registration, fleet number, or other identifier.

Is this a minibus or larger passenger vehicle covered by the cited vehicle regulations?

Confirm that a suitable first-aid box is present in the vehicle and readily available.

Confirm that the first-aid box is clearly marked.

Confirm that the first-aid box is in good condition.

Confirm that the box contains 10 foil-packed antiseptic wipes.

Confirm that the box contains 1 conforming disposable bandage not less than 7.5 cm wide.

Confirm that the box contains 2 triangular bandages.

Confirm that the box contains 1 packet of 24 assorted adhesive dressings.

Confirm that the box contains 3 large sterile unmedicated ambulance dressings, each not less than 15.0 cm × 20.0 cm.

Confirm that the box contains 2 sterile eye pads with attachments.

Confirm that the box contains 12 assorted safety pins.

Confirm that the box contains 1 pair of rustless blunt-ended scissors.

Record any missing, damaged, unsuitable, or inaccessible item or condition identified during the inspection.
