Applicability
Use this procedure only where [academy name] is named in a school attendance order and the Secretary of State has directed the academy trust to admit [child name] under its funding agreement.
Procedure
1. Verify the documents
[admission responsible role] must verify the school attendance order naming [academy name] and the Secretary of State direction requiring the academy trust to admit [child name].
Record the school attendance order reference [school attendance order reference] and the Secretary of State direction reference [secretary of state direction reference].
2. Coordinate with the local authority
Coordinate with [local authority name] regarding the school attendance order, the Secretary of State direction, and the admission of [child name].
3. Record the direction
Retain the school attendance order and Secretary of State direction in the academy trust records, together with the recorded references and the admission record.
4. Complete admission
The academy trust must admit [child name] in accordance with the Secretary of State direction. Record the admission date as [admission date].
Applicability boundary
This procedure does not apply where [academy name] has not been named in a school attendance order or where no Secretary of State direction to admit has been made.
