Manufacturers get a proper home this week, risk assessments gain an unscored register, and retiring records is clearer across the board.

Import manufacturers and keep them in one place

Long manufacturer lists meant typing names one by one, or keeping a spreadsheet beside CalmCompliance and hoping the two stayed aligned. Asset Models, Asset Classes, and Manufacturers also lived in different corners of Premises, so you had to hunt for the right register.

You can import a manufacturer spreadsheet under Settings → Import manufacturers: upload, map columns, review repairs on each row, then commit. The manufacturer field on the create-asset wizard searches your own list, the Calm library, and the web, or you type a new name. On the Assets page, a … menu opens Asset Models, Asset Classes, and Manufacturers. Manufacturers is a full list with search, managed/manual filter, export, and a detail page for the vendor record and the asset models on the current site that use it. Old settings links open the new page.

Capture hazards without inventing a score

Some assessments need a structured list of hazards and controls, not likelihood, severity, or a risk band. Until now you either forced numbers onto those rows or kept them outside the assessment.

You can add a Risk Register section on an editable assessment. Each row holds a description and optional controls, with no score columns. Hazards get the same detail tools as matrix items where scoring is not involved: comments, followers, tasks, and people and groups. Registers copy with drafts, duplicates, and templates. Unscored rows stay out of score-based summary widgets and the assessment risk band. Full PDF, print, and Excel exports include Risk Register content without score chrome.

Archive first, then delete with a clear picture

Removing the wrong category, group, or assessment used to feel uneven: some records vanished after a thin confirm, others blocked you without much explanation, and restore was hard to find.

You archive and delete against one pattern. Categories still in use show a blocker dialog with what depends on them. Form templates, companies, risk assessments, and groups use archive-first: Archive moves them out of day-to-day lists and selectors, Restore brings them back where that applies, and Delete stays hidden until the record is archived. Permanent delete asks you to acknowledge side effects such as memberships, distributions, or linked work. You can also restore archived approval and review policies, Calm courses, and site evidence.
